Default Rainbow Clays

Got too much time on my hands? Saw this on line so I made some. The idea is that you get a big rainbow cloud when you hit them solid.

Get line chalk at Home Depot and mix it with alcohol (rubbing, NOT your good Scotch) till it is like pancake batter then fill the top of the clay and let dry. Water will work but alcohol dries faster.

It works. Nice cloud. Probably not worth it to do a lot. If kids were shooting this would be fun for them.

How do they fly with that bit of extra weight on the top? Have you tried any in the bottoms?

The club that I shoot at has targets that are filled with powder and covered with what looks like foil. Fun to break them. They won't work in an automatic thrower.

The extra weight makes them "get out of Dodge" faster. They fly fine , less float and drift. More like a bird that knows you are on his tail.
Top only so far. Under would turn them into a rock not a floater. I filled them about half way. A auto thrower might break them up.

The ones at the club don't nest well. They won't feed properly.
