Default The Trinity - and monotheism

This is sort of a goofy concept don't you think?
A mathematician would laugh out loud at the logic - or rather the lack of any logic.

Mean while Jews and Muslims do not even consider christianity to be a monotheistic faith with the 3 part god that you guys believe in.
The birth of monotheism seems to have been kicked off by the Egyptian Pharaoh Akhenaten.
He set himself up to be an intermediary like the pope. Akhenaten was supposed to be a living god and the son of the god Aten. Sound familiar?? Oh yeah all the common folks were required to worship Akhenaten. Only Akhenaten and his queen Nefertiti were allowed to worship Aten directly. Religious beliefs of others appear truly strange don't they?

By the way it is very possible that the so called one god religions morphed out of Akhenaten's little experiment in monotheism. Akhenaten died about 1334 BC. Ramesses II of the Red Sea parting and the Exodus was born c. 1303 BC; died July or August 1213 BC. So you can see that the Hebrews were in Egypt at the time of Akhenaten's one god revolution.

Before you have Christianity you essentially had nothing - at least no Christianity. People were worshiping golden calves right? Just like the Egyptians.....

You aren't a believer. Why do you care about it, why the constant gnawing in your belly about what we believe?

I don't have a Phd, not even a BA. But I do have a DD214.

Common sense is an uncommon virtue

I find it hard to believe that men who have claimed to have read the bible could or would believe in some thing that's not even mentioned in the bible . the scriptures clearly show that God and Jesus are two distinct individuals *. not equal ,the answering to the other .

1 Corinthians 11:3 (ASV)
3*But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.
the holy spirit is not mentioned in 1 Corinthians 11:3* , why not ?? its really very simple .* the holy spirit is not a spirit person* .
the trinity of gods is a pagan concept that some would like to assume was Christianized .......even as far back as the*fourth century . which means it was not from the start of the Christion* faith .

Have you read the Bible through? If you haven't, I suggest you do so. Then we will gladly discuss your concerns.

Actually--if you don't put God in a box and try and reason Him in humanity---the Chart is correct in any way that you see it because God is--IS---the Son and the Holy Spirit at the same moment He is God !

Over and done with, the last time a jehova's Witness "attack group" came through:

Where Did The Trinity Teaching Come From?

Conclusion:

It is clear from a reading of the Bible that there is only one God.
It is clear that the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit are each God.
It is also clear that each person is separate and distinct from the other.
One God in three persons – the Biblical Trinity.

"As Huxley remarked in Brave New World Revisited, the civil libertarians and rationalists who are ever on the alert to oppose tyranny "failed to take into account man's almost infinite appetite for distractions." In 1984, Orwell added, people are controlled by inflicting pain. In Brave New World, they are controlled by inflicting pleasure. In short, Orwell feared that what we fear will ruin us. Huxley feared that what we desire will ruin us.

This book is about the possibility that Huxley, not Orwell, was right.”

Why do people forever think that humans are supposed to be able to understand God. And then when they can't, they throw up their hands and reject Him. People, there is a reason why angels and mortals bow down to Him!
