Default Going down to AL

Looking in the area north of the Mobile area for a possible home. Tired of the MO. winters.
Any odd gun laws I should know about? Here we can do pretty much anything, I do have a CCW.
Checked several sites but they seem to conflict.
Thanks for any input.

Bama is a shall issue state. County Sheriffs are permit issuers and they get to keep all permit money as an off budget addition so they sure issue all they can. We're also an open carry state and I always open carry when out but have the permit which is recognized pretty much in all southern states. You won't get any surprises regarding gun buying or toting down here.

It might take a while before you get the hang of the lingo there.

Oh we're also a stand your ground and castle doctrine state. The legislature is considering a bill to drop the permit requirement for CCW. I'm betting the Sheriffs are gonna be against that as it will cost them a ton of money in lost revenue.

Deer season opens Oct. 15 for bow hunters and the Saturday before Thanksgiving for gun season. Runs thru the following Jan. 31 for both. Down in the real far south parts of the state I think it runs thru mid February now. No closed season on hogs or coyotes. Small game seasons runs thru February and begin early October.

Thanks for the response.
Coming down on Sun to scout several areas , most are around Wilmer/ Semmes and south of Monroeville.
It took me a few years to get use to it here in SEMO but after 25+ years time to going to a warmer climate.
Found a cheap place in Hawaii but she doesn't want to live next to a volcano. Told here they are less of a surprise than a tornado.
Here we no longer need permits for CCW but kept mine for travel, some towns still don't allow open carry unless you have a CCW.
