I'd be a greybeard except I shave... I was looking at H&R Handi 45-70 when I was young but never did it. Now that I'm retired I'm thinking to buy a Buffalo Classic. It appeals to me in many ways although I'll never hunt bison with it. I just want a reliable shooter I can reload cheaply. I hate the price of jacketed bullets and smokeless powder these days. I can do with black powder and cast lead bullets. With the BC, there's enough accuracy, efficiency and plenty of lethality on deer to 200 yards easily. Now I have to find one in Canada at a reasonable price. It looks like I have to pay a $250 CDN premium over the standard Handi Rifle to get what I want. It's probably worth it but I still want to shop around. I'm so old this might be my last purchase and I want to do it right.
