Does anyone know anything about a Phillips & Rodgers in 454 Casull with serial number 1?

I don't have a photo, but its a gunsmithing outfit. The subject single action revolver is said to have sold a couple of years ago for $9500. I'd certainly rather have a FA or one of the new Ruger Bisleys.

They were located in Huntsville, Texas and I believe they went out of business (or at least ceased manufacturing) in 2003. They were most known for making the Madusa model 47 that would chamber and fire almost any .355 -.357 caliber round interchangeably.

They also made conversion cylinders for Ruger single actions in several different calibers. Also they made a 7.62x39 single action revolver that closely resembled the BFR revolver.

Note: correct spelling may be Medusa.

A fellow who worked there used to have one of the original six-shooter web sites approx. ten or twelve years ago.

I think is was called 45 Single Action or something like that.

Thank you guys for the info. My dad ended up with it on trade, and I am trying to decide if I should trade him out of it or not. Already have a few freedom guns, not really interested in any Rugers. Thank you again Stevejr454
