Default shot the 45-70 contender today

last month i bought a contender carbine that came with a 22match barrel with a 4x leupold scope and a 16"45-70 barrel with muzzle tamer .this morning i took it to my buddys farm and shot 4 different loads to see what recoil was like on it.loads were a 345g lead fn @1100 fps,385g @1000,385g @1300 all out of lymans cast bullet manual and a factory [email protected] the first 2 loads had very mild recoil i was surprised .the [email protected] was like a 20gauge 2 3/4" field load not to bad. the [email protected] had just a little bit more recoil than the [email protected] maybe like a 3"20 gauge shotgun .i was expecting a lot more kick than it had .the 345g load was very accurate 3 shots touching at 45 yards .i think i'm going to keep this barrel [was going to sell it[thinking the recoil would be pretty hard] but had to shoot it first ] .
