Default Leupold VX3 question

I have a Leupold VX3 and noticed that they are no longer for sale, instead they have the VX3i. My question is what is the difference in a VX3 and a VX3i and why is the VX3 discontinued? Just curious more than anything.

Thank you for the help in advance.

Someone at SWAFA or Bear Basin can surely answer your question. Both have toll free numbers and excellent customer service reps.

There are fewer models and fewer options offered -- a more streamlined and efficient production operation for Leupold. They claim to have enhanced the optics to give as much as "15 minutes more shooting time," but that is pure marketing hype. On optical charts and low-light testing, they are pretty much one and the same.
