Winchester Model 52 B trigger adjustment
« on: July 08, 2003, 02:50:29 PM »
One of my shooting buddies shoots a beautiful Winchester Model 52B (the old original, not the new repro).  It has the adjustable micro motion trigger.  Lately the trigger has gotten a little "spongy" losing the crispness it has always exhibited.  Does anyone out there have a diagram of the trigger or the procedure used to adjust it?  Maybe a page from an old manuel some kind person could scan.  Any help would be very appreciated

The Winchester 52's micro-motion trigger is the finest trigger I've ever used.  I've a repro version and it's amazing..  The trigger makes the rifle easier to use.  Where with some rifles the accuracy convinces me to try them with the 52 the trigger makes the rifle a better hunter.  That said the micro-motion trigger is very complicated..  and most recommend the services of a pro if they are to be disassembled.  I've clean mine regularly with spray carberator cleaner(use the cheapest available).  Re-lubing lightly with a synthetic oil (I use ATF).  Wipe of any excess as these triggers are sensitive to dirt and fouling.  The link below should take you to a scematic of a M52C, which also used the micro-motion trigger mechanism.  If you have further problems, just let us know and we'll try to help,,
