Well...........I just wish they would send me my rifle back with the three barrels I ordered back at the beginning of September 08. Angry

I know that was not very constructive.  Sorry.

A quick detatch forarm.  Something with a latch like a good shotgun instead of the screw.

Seems to me that just about every caliber wish could be filled by unchambered barrels. Then work up as many calibers in unchambered barrels as they may see fit. Or better still, sell some unbored barrels too, so they could be custom bored and chambered. Seems obvious to me. I know, I know, obvious does not cut it when it comes to rifle manufacturing.

OK, the lightbulb went on! If you don't chamber the barrel or bore it, they could not fit it up at the factory because they don't know the cartridge and could not headspace for anything, correct?

   Greetings!

Is it just me, or would that H & R CR Carbine be more appealing in a traditional rifle cartridge, such as the .38 WCF, or the .44 WCF? I'm sure that the current popularity of the .45 Colt in long guns is justified; but it just seems like one of the Winchester cartridges would be "just right" for the CAS Folks. Even in this economy, I'd JUMP on a .44 WCF chambered Carbine.
   What do you folks think?

           Be Well!

Very close to a 44 mag, I shoot 44-40 in my CAS/SASS lever rifles.
Wishful thinking, I doubt they would. Marlin won't bring out a 94 lever in 44-40. Not enough sales Is my guess.

I would be just as happy with a CR carbine in 44.

I have a Handi-44, I might just by a CR stock set.

Here's my top ten...   most of these have been mentioned - several times.  So, get a clue Remington/NEF decision makers...
If you build it...they will come (and buy!)   We could only hope...

218 Bee
250 Savage
257 Roberts
260 Remington
6.5x55
7x57 again
338 Federal
338-06
358 Winchester
375 Winchester

How about - charge $50 more per barrel and have them actually fit the frame without modifications.
Just a thought!

I want to ammend my list.
Extend the Buffalo Classic model.
Add.
22LR, 22 Hornet, 30-30, 357 mag
Add 405 Win, 338 Marlin.
Extend the Carbine. Line.  i think it would make a great little carbine for all kinds of uses.
22LR, 22Hornet, 223, 30-30, 35 Rem, 357 mag / max, 44 mag, 45-70.

Another idea is to have barrels that are not chambered.
So a 44 barrel can be chambered to 44-40, 44Spl, 44 russian if you want.
224 barrel can be chambered to 218, 225, 223 WSSM or other centerfire.

Make 17 rimfire rifles with sporter-weight barrels in addition to the heavy barrels.

a lot of folks would like to see barrels interchangeable(no fitting required), a good idea but if they do that the price would likely be 300 bucks per barrel. No way they could or would do that without raising prices. ....................,bring back the 7.62x39,and i would love a 32 H+R magnum. One more, i'd like to see the pistol cartridges,357,44mag,45 colt, and the 30-30 come to us with a slightly smaller barrel contour...so these guns could weigh in at 5 1/2 to six pounds or so...then they would be real "Handi" Grin

Interchangeable barrels could be done for very little extra $. They are already making the barrels, all they would have to do is tighten the tolerances - no extra cost in materials, perhaps a little bit more time (or not, depending on their process and learning curve). Besides, this is America, we can do it! and American workers are second to none!
I work in a machine 'job' shop, and we hold close tolerances every day.
I agree with your recommendations, lighter is good, .32 mag also (maybe .327 federal)!

My Wish List is simple.

Any Weatherby caliber would be nice, Not the monsters but the .257 Weatherby, .270 Weatherby, .338-06 Weatherby, Anything Ackley, Some sort of Magnum round, Maybe the .338 Marlin Round would be great.

Maybe Barrel Blanks for Smiths to do wildcats.
