I have been sticking the upcoming cannon shoots to the top of the board and posting them to the GBO calender. Unfortunately that paractice is cluttering up the top of the board. I am going to change that.
When you post about an upcoming Cannon Shoot or Cannon Show make a regular post to the board. When I see your post I will copy your opening post and a link to your post as a reply to this post. By doing this your post will be open for discusion and this post will just be an announcement. This post will be lock to discussion.
When you make a post be sure and add it to the GBO calender. I am going to leave that up to you too do.

Civil War and Cannon Show Mansfield Ohio, May 5&6, 2007This is a Civil War show that dedicates a pole building to cannons and etc. The Paulson brothers, Lutz of 'AOP', Matt Switlik, both with their books available for purchase and several of cannon makers and sellers listed on the board. There are many smaller cannon makers selling smaller cannons & mortars, 3/4" to a couple of inches. There is a display of many cannons of the CW era on display outside the building. Twice a day the large cannons have a firing demonstration. The largest head turner is the demonstration of the six horse hitch with it's full sized cannon & limber at a gallop. At least that was I saw the last time I was there in 2005, 2004. I will be going this year and I travel from Wisconsin. The link is www.richlandcountyfair.com/events.php?=5&yr=2007

Neff Cannons and Machine will be at Kalispell, Montana this Friday, Saturday and Sunday (7-27 to 7-29) for a gun show at the Flathead County fairgrounds. We are also going to be on KBEZ 600 AM doing a broadcast and cannon shoot this Friday at noon. At this show we can fire a cannon every even hour.
Don,
If the Wyoming cannon shoot is happening next year, please post it. We could not make this year, but would love to go there to shoot our cannons.

Anyone in or near the Central Texas region, I'm hosting my annual medieval armour-making weekend. Part of this always includes an afternoon of working up blank charges for the large mortars and cannon as well as some smaller ordinance (.50-1.1" gonnes) and mortar projectile firing. http://www.100megsfree3.com/kragaxe/events/texarmourin/Armourin06.html

The next cannon shoot here in Northern California(north of Eureka) is the annual Misery Shoot on February 16. February 14 & 15 are practice days. The range is located on US Highway 299 east of US 101 at the SRA Range. If memory serves correctly we had about 20 guns on the firing line last year. Smoothbore cannons compete at 100 yds.; rifled guns at 200 yds., and mortars at 175 yds. If it rains(which is likely)the shoot will take place undercover of the cannon shed. There are motels available down the hill in Arcata. Hope to see you there.

Neff Cannons & Machine will be attending the Big Reno Show in Reno Nevada on March 28 to 30. With nearly two acres of floor space this is one of the west's best and notable Gun, Knife and Collectables show.
Stop by our display and we will visit. Allways glad to see people from GBO and the shows we attend.

Is there another Midwest Artillery Show June 21-22nd? The one that I am involved with doesn't have any long range matches. Mortars and field artillery will be fired at 100 yards. Shooting will start about 11 on Saturday and about 10 on Sunday. There will be a lot of displays of artillery and artillery related equipment mostly from the Civil War period.

Are you involved with the one at Bluewater sportsmens Association? Ive seen at least two descriptions of it, the one at their website and comments at other messge boards. If I remember right Ive seen a NSSA site with info but all doesnt seem to be too clear either. What the heck Im going anyways. Anything beats staying home in saginaw for a weekend.

OK I went back and rechecked. The Bluewater site says its an NSSA shoot. The Northwest Territory NSSA site lists it as The Midwest Artillery Show a Non NSSA Match {go figure} But what the heck Im outta Sagnasty Saturday and Sunday morning. Im looking to pick up a mold for a inch and a quarter round for a naval cannon for someone in the UP.

Somehow I was picked to run the Midwest Artillery Show at the Bluewater Sportsman's Assoc. This isn't an official N-SSA event, but the three units that are hosting it are all N-SSA units. If this turns out as well as last year we will have a lot of guns and equipment there. The shooting is a combination demonstration - competition. It looks like we will have two Napoleons, one Parrott, three Ellsworths, two six pounders, one Williams gun, and one subscale Rev War gun firing. Also being demonstrated will be a Union Repeating Rifle (Coffee Mill).
I look forward to seeing there. Please look me up.
