Oct 1-5 2008, NSSA 118th National Match, Fort Shenandoah, VA.  The NSSA website:  http://www.n-ssa.org/

I usually go to check out the Sutler Village where occasionally interesting things (not necessarily Civil War) pop up for sale.  I also like to watch the mortar match held early Friday afternoon.  I will make another better video of the mortar match if things work out.

The Misery Cannon Shoot will be held on February 21 at the Simpson Range on Highway 299 east of the Eureka - Arcata - Mckinleyville area. Practice will take place on February 19 & 20. Smoothbore cannon targets at 100 yds., rifled cannons at 300 yds, and mortars at 175 yds.The range is 14 miles east of Highway 101 and west of the Lord Ellis Summit. There are motels down the road close to Arcata and camping is available at the range. Gas is now $3.09 for regular. Hope to see you there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Misery Cannon Shoot scheduled for February 21 has been canceled. There is snow on the ground with more scheduled to fall before next weekend. There are travel adviseries on   Highway 299. People are worried that they might get down here and not get home. I look forward to seeing everybody at the June shoot.   Sad Sad

DAN -

WELCOME to the board.  Wyoming is right-much far for a weekend outing for me here in Virginia, but we'd love to see some pictures of the fire and smoke when it's done!

If y'all do it right, we should be able to smell the sulpher about two days later.  Grin

Info for Grayling this year. The match is a week earlier this year. Museumandcollector.com There is also a link on the Grayling page for The Grayling Visitors Info for directions. I just got the new catalog from Mr. Switlik. No date yet for the new version of the Complete cannoneer.
