I was just curious of the opinions of the people in here (shoot you guys feel like family to me!!)  Do you ever just have like a few days or weeks when you just feel like doing a few favors or helping people out?? Maybe it is just the dreary old winter wearing off, but i did a ujoint/carier bearing job for a guy and charged him less than regular price because i personally felt good about helping another guy out.  Just wondering if other people just felt this good deed feeling every once in a while.

josh

p.s. i know this isnt the "correct" forum, just i like everybodies opinions in here.

Any time I get to feeling very good I just come here and read all the bitching and complaining from folks who apparently don't feel they are getting their money's worth for the $00.00 they pay to use this site and who want to tell me how to run it. That always makes such feelings pass quickly.

Yes I have done things for people just for the sake of doing it and feeling good about yourself.

Yes, josh, I have days like that.  It's always a pleasant surprise when it happens.  Yes, Bill I have days like you have had, too.  And Yes, they don't always end in 24 hours.
God Bless you both for being generous to your fellow man.  Look at it this way, if ya gotta have a mix of good days and bad, there's no better place on earth for them to happen than right here in the United States of America.  We really are blessed.

Yep, I have.

GB, I don't recall reading any post complaining about, or telling you how to run your ship.  But I do recall many post giving you praise and accolades for the job you and Matt both do.  I'm sorry that recent events have left you feeling personally attacked, I don't believe that was anyone's intent.

Yep,I know the feeling,my little Kabota with the 5' tiller has been real busy here lately tilling up all the people's gardens. One old fellow (76 years old) has a big garden that he was trying to till 1 pass at a time (because of heart surgery) was very happy when he woke up from a nap and discovered his hole garden had been tilled.  I thought I could fool him into thinking he had already tilled it,but the 5' width of the tiller gave me away. I get a great sense of "sharing" when i get a chance to take a person out hunting and fishing, last season I took my partners wife out and got her first deer,a real nice Wt buck,it was the best hunt i had all season, later in the year i helped my partner connect on his first mule deer and he got a wallhanger buck with one shot in a backcountry area i consider my honey hole,it was my second best hunt of the year.I find myself wanting to get my game in the freezer so i can start "guiding" the never ending group of people i know(kids, women and non natives to the state) that really need and appreciate the help i can give them in getting in a good area and taking thier first deer, elk, antelope, ect.,me and my partner are planning our spring bear hunt right now and I hope we can get him a bear in the first 3 weeks because he has an Army SF training to go to out of state and will miss the rest of the season.Put them on your ignore List Greybeard and pay more attention to all the good people here thanking you for bringing us all together in one forum where we can share and learn without bias, there will always be a few sour apples in the barrel, toss em in the brush for the critters to chew on!

I personally have the belief that helping other folks is good for me, good for them, and just makes for "good vibes" (forgive the old hippy term - but I grew up in that era)   ... and always it somehow comes back, around and I find folks helping me when I am at the 'need help' end of the spectrum.

I had some medical probs last fall, and my neighbor came and did my lawn with his riding mower so I didn't have to, with the push mower.

More than a couple of guys on this forum have helped me, and been helped in return by me... and no matter which direction one is going with this stuff, it just plain feels goooood!  Grin

And (risking another old hippy phrase) "If it feels good - do it!"

Kinda funny you should ask that question. I try to help others every chance I get.  Does give you that warm fuzzy feeling.

On a side note, there should be lots of warm fuzzies around here with all the help that is dished out.  I would be completely lost without this site sometimes.

Graybeard, thanks for allowing us all the help each other.

I find it really seems to help you more than the other guy when you go out of your way to help someone. And if not, who cares, that should not have been the intention in the first place. I do believe in "random acts of kindness"....<><.... Grin

I love helping folks out. Many times I take the side of the underdog or little man. I hate when I see people piling on just for the cause of being on the "in" crowd. I guess it comes from all the times that I have been on the bottom of the dogpile. It is great when all the bodies hit the floor and the little man is shown to be the victor.  Cool

Hope everyone had a blessed weekend.
