A bunch of first timers have done it. I've done probably 15-20 of mine, they're a piece of cake, once you get over the anxiety, the first one goes real easy, it's just the breaking the ice part that people can't handle. Wink Those that can't "break the ice", have em done while they get barrels fitted, or pay a smith to do it, different strokes. Wink

I done mine about a month ago on my Ruger 204. I read the instructions over several times and went slow during the process and it worked out okay for me. I took it down to 3 lbs. and stopped there. I would not take it down any further because sometimes they will lighten up some. After having shot over 80 rounds since then, it now breaks just a hair in under 3lbs. Worked out great for me. If you don't have a good flat smooth stone to hone the parts on, it would be best to get a new one before you start. You can do it if you won't get in a hurry, and you'll appreciate the lighter trigger pull.   Grin  Good luck,   Jack

I did both mine.
Easier than it looked in the instructions.

Im probally going to give it a shot this winter, my 223 is very light from the factory, but my 22 hornet and 25-06 are way heavy,  my 25-06 fits perfectly on my 223 frame, and fits loose on its own frame, so im going to "do a trial run with the 25-06 frame trigger first.  Wink

If that loose fitting barrel is factory fitted, I'd send it in for repair/replacement or so a shim job on it if it isn't, have a trigger job done if you send it in. Wink
