Well Sunday morning I finally downed an 8 pointer with the Encore. I used the 20 ga. rifled barrel as the property I have a permit to hunt on will not allow rifles even though we are a rifle county. With a good trigger job and some after market parts from an unmentionable source this thing shoots great with Lightfield slugs. Hit him quartering away just next to the last rib and he only went 20 ft. Haven't found the slug yet but likely will when we butcher today. The 308 barrel shoots one inch with fact. 150 gr. Rem. Cor-Lokts. Love this gun. 223 barrel is up next followed by a .22 rimfire. Maybe even a 50 cal muzzleloader!

I too got my first deer with an Encore.  Got a spike on the Michigan opener with a Nosler 60 grain Partition in 223 Rem, DRT.  I know is a small round but it's all I had that day, and hey, he tasted great in the spaghetti meat sauce tonight!

Never had a gun shoulder so nicely and hold as steady offhand shooting as the Encore. Can't wait to bloody the 308 barrel next year!

Me too.!
Thanksgiving week in VA. One 8pt, one 6pt, two nice does. Ranges from 45 yards to 137 yards. No tracking.
Encore with 7mm RM barrel on.
Gun shot great, enjoyed hunting with it. Look forward to a return trip at Christmas. The late muzzleloading season will be in and if it's not too cold I'll go back out to the property and try again.
