Just got a CZ 52, gave it a new firing pin and stronger 16 lb recoil spring and chronographed it with Romanian surplus.
What a zipper.  Velocity averaged 1490 with very little spread and S.D. of 8. That ammo is great and the feared corrosive primer is easy to deal with.  The elevation is right on a 25 yards but spreads right to left some.  That could be me not being the world's greatest pistol shot.  I'll bet I can make a coyote hurry to the closest bit of cover though.  The lack of a slide release is the only design change they should have made in my book.  Well, maybe better sights too.

They are fun aren't they?

Can't understand why guys buy them, then want to convert them to 9mm...

Half the fun is the 7.62x25 caliber....

I really like my CZ52 and would never consider converting it to 9MM. May even get some reloading dies and brass and play around with loads.

I put a Hogue, "slip on", rubber grip on mine (cut to fit). I found a "Cordura" holster by "Uncle Mike's" that is a perfect fit. The CZ52 is a "blast" to shoot and it is even fairly easy cartridge to reload.

1911 holsters are a perfect fit for the CZs.  I carry mine in this GI shoulder holster along with a mag pouch for an extra mag and knife.

Like this Hank?                                                              Was I the only one who couldn't see it?  Huh

I've been watching this thread and reading all over this forum and the internet re: CZ-52's.
A few years back I caught the bug to get one, but the notion got shelved for awhile.
Couple weeks ago it got re-lit and became a mid-level obsession!

Found what appears to be a nice one locally, just yesterday... should be picking it up next week!
Planning to order a brick of ammo today......I'm excited now!  Grin

P.S: Found this image on a T-shirt on the net:

There are some hollow points available for that caliber.  MilSurp is fun to shoot, but a JHP will put the desired smackdown on your coyote.  I believe Magsafe makes a scraming fast little frangable for it.  IIRC it's a 60 grain projectile scooting along at around 2000fps.  Don't know who has it, but I'll wager our friend Google will  tell you the exact specs and where to buy some.

Thanks, Hammerspur, I tried to post that pic but for some reason it didn't post.  I've got 3 of them set up like that, one in each of my pickups.  I pull the 85 gr. FMJs lower the power charge a little and replace with a 110 gr. SP .30 C bullet, shoots good and has enough velocity for expansion to at least 50-60 yds.

Hank, where are you located?
If I did that up here I'd wind up in prison!  Shocked

There are some hollow points available for that caliber.

Thinking of looking into dies and 90gr. Hornady XTP's... Course I'd have to find reloadable cases too which might mean shooting off some Winchester FMJ's too obtain them.  Roll Eyes
Anyone know of a source for 7.62x25 brass?

I know I have seen both reloadable ammo and brass on gunbroker.  Probably not the cheapest, but it's a start.

If you decide to start reloading for the 52, may I suggest some reading from another thread.

Hammerspur, Well, Rhode Island, whadda ya expect?  I'm in Utah + have a CCW.  Usually have 4 or 5 guns in my truck + my truck pistol + packing my CCW gun.  An armed society is a polite society and also a relatively crime free one.
You can get all the brass you want from Starline.  7.62x25 or 7.63 Mauser either one works fine.  The 90 XTP would be good.  I just happened to have a box of 500 .30C 110 SPs so used them and they shoot very well.  I also have a 4 cav. H&G 93 gr. truncated cone mould made just for the .30 Mauser and .30 Luger for plinking with the 52.
