I ordered a .204 barrel and I am getting the equipment to reload. I called Lee Precision and they do not make a case trimmer for that caliber.
What are others doing to trim cases? Lee is a simple apparatus that I have used for about six calibers.

Buy a Lee 22-250 case length gauge, chuck it in a drill and use a file on it to reduce it to .204", you'll have to do half at a time, then swap ends. Then trim the pilot end so it trims to the appropriate length. You'll need a .223 lock stud shell holder too if you don't already have one.

Boy that was simple. Thanks Tim.
That is the same solution I used for my 40/65 six or seven years ago, and I forgot. I had to use a 45/70 and turn it down. OH boy!! The miles are making a difference. CRS !!!!!

I don't believe the teeth on the cutter go small enough for a .20, I know that they don't go small enough for a .17. Take the stud out and put a neck up to the cutter end and see if it will work. Larry

I can confirm this it does work, one thing to note, in my case the pilot slipped inside of the cutters, I did not notice it when I trimmed the cutter when I installed that pilot the next time I bottomed it out and cut some really short necks. Since I did not really like how that pilot turned out I re-did it and before I trimmed I expoxied the cutter and pilot together. it has been working fin since.

A wrap of copper wire around the threaded end will work as a shim if a trimmer is too short, I had to do that to trim the long Starline 38-55 brass. Tim |
