Are you ready for the House Bill titled 'HR 45, Blair Holt Licensing and Record Act of 2009'. It will make it illegal to own a firearm unless it is registered with the database in Washington D.C. As a gun owner you will have to be finger printed, you will be required to provide your DL#, SS#, you must maintain a valid address at all times, submit to mental amd physical health records being put on file, you will also be required to file any address changes and you any ownership changes even if private sale. Each update will cost $25 and if you fail to comply you will lose your right to own firearms. This bill and its language mirror almost completely one defeated last year in the House of Representatives by soon to be Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel. We the citizenry be as lucky this time?

Pass this on to everyone who believes in strict Constitutionalism and remember that laws only apply to those who obey them. Criminals by definition and nature do not abide by laws. New laws and restrictions only apply to the law abiding citizen and are not written with the criminal in mind. With guns, it is not about having laws on the books to prosecute individuals, it is about taking guns away from the people so that no one has them in the first place. One last item to note, when assuming power and creating a facist state, Hitler was a proponent of strong gun laws because a disarmed populace was much easier to control than an armed one. The kings of old also outlawed weapons of any kind in any region that they conquered to quell the ability of the citizens to uprise against them.

The Founding Fathers of this nation understood all of the above and because of this they included the second amendment in the constitution. In fact, they knew that at some point in every society's life span that the need for the population to arise came about. To this end they made they right to keep and bear arms against a tyrannical state an absolute right that could not be revoked. They did this because the first thing tyrants and despots do is to remove a populations right to defend themselves. When this is done the tyrants have no problem with the destruction of society as we know it.

Send this on to all true patriots! Protect your Second Amendment!

The following is a summary of the bill as provided by the Congressional Research Service. If you read the whole bill, you'll find it will effectively preclude the ownership of ANY firearms by law-abiding people unless licensed by the Attorney General. How long do you think THAT would take??

Congressional Research Service Summary
The following summary was written by the Congressional Research Service, a well-respected nonpartisan arm of the Library of Congress. GovTrack did not write and has no control over these summaries.

1/6/2009--Introduced.

Blair Holt's Firearm Licensing and Record of Sale Act of 2009 - Amends the Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act to prohibit a person from possessing a firearm unless that person has been issued a firearm license under this Act or a state system certified under this Act and such license has not been invalidated or revoked. Prescribes license application, issuance, and renewal requirements.

Prohibits transferring or receiving a qualifying firearm unless the recipient presents a valid firearms license, the license is verified, and the dealer records a tracking authorization number. Prescribes firearms transfer reporting and record keeping requirements. Directs the Attorney General to establish and maintain a federal record of sale system.

Prohibits: (1) transferring a firearm to any person other than a licensee, unless the transfer is processed through a licensed dealer in accordance with national instant criminal background check system requirements, with exceptions; (2) a licensed manufacturer or dealer from failing to comply with reporting and record keeping requirements of this Act; (3) failing to report the loss or theft of the firearm to the Attorney General within 72 hours; (4) failing to report to the Attorney General an address change within 60 days; or (5) keeping a loaded firearm, or an unloaded firearm and ammunition for the firearm, knowingly or recklessly disregarding the risk that a child is capable of gaining access, if a child uses the firearm and causes death or serious bodily injury.

Prescribes criminal penalties for violations of firearms provisions covered by this Act.

Directs the Attorney General to: (1) establish and maintain a firearm injury information clearinghouse; (2) conduct continuing studies and investigations of firearm-related deaths and injuries; and (3) collect and maintain current production and sales figures of each licensed manufacturer.

Authorizes the Attorney General to certify state firearm licensing or record of sale systems.

I am appalled that there have been at least three different topics posted on this site in reference to this horrifying bill with few or no responses!  There are 6 pages on our Where is TM7 thread, and 6 more ridiculing Dale about cats and only ONE reply in a topic that is blatantly stating that the Government is attacking your second amendment rights.  Most of you are gun owners right Huh  Is it too much trouble to make a phone call, type an email, or better yet write your congressman, senators, and anyone who will listen.  What are you willing to do to protect your rights?

I posted this in one of the other topics on this act, but here it is again for those who didn't see it or take the time to read it.

The Blair Holt's Firearm Licensing and Record of Sale Act is pending federal legislation in Congress.  The bill was introduced on January 6, 2009 by Representative Bobby Rush of Illinois. The main objective of the bill is to provide for stricter gun control. A person would be prohibited by law from possessing a firearm unless approved by a state run system or been issued a license that would have to be renewed every five years within thirty days of the expiration date.  The Attorney General would set up a tracking system of all sales with dealers having to be licensed. Production figures of each licensed manufacturer would be made public.  All those current licensed gun owners would have two years to become certified by the Attorney General or risk losing private property or becoming a criminal.
The bill has been referred to the House Judiciary Committee.

The Anniston Star our local newspaper had this to say about it.

"If this legislation becomes law, Americans who are in the market for a firearm will have to meet these requirements:

Pass a complex written test by the U.S. attorney general in order to make a purchase; pay a $25 fee for the ability to purchase a firearm; give authorization to access all medical records that contain information about the buyer's mental heath; give fingerprints and photo ID for government records."

For those who think HR45 has no chance, try moving to Hawaii.

All of my guns are now registered in the National DB, because I had to register them with the state or they cannot be operated, transported or stored. I'm active duty military so I had no choice in moving here, have to rent, etc. etc. I had to pay $30.25 (exact change only) for an FBI fingerprint, and when I decided to purchase a new gun with my combat pay, I had to pay again for a permit to acquire, and produce notarized evidence of training. Its been 14 days since I applied for the permit for this specific gun (had to produce serial number, bill of sale from vendor), so yippee today I get to go pick up the permit, so I can pick up the gun, and then go back and register it with state (National DB). Thank God I'm military trained or I would have had to sign up for State approved training, which is costly, time consuming, and occurs in conjunction with the lunar eclipse. We have a hi-cap ban, no open carry, no concealed carry practically.

And this is where King Hussein spent his formative years - fair and reasonable gun control.

I live in Massachusetts, the land of Kennedy, Kerry and a good percentage of every 'nitwit' "over-the-top" Liberal who ever either went into politics or became facility at our numerous colleges.

That said, I send, send, send to my Liberal Democratic-Lock-Stepped "Representatives" and protest protest protest.  And these also will be added to my posting ASAP!   We don't win many here in Mass but they know "we're" here, always lurking.....after all we DID elect Romney Gov.  Grin  He sure wasn't perfect, but warts and all he'd have stood a MUCH better chance of being in 1600 PA AV. right now.

We knew this was comming from day one.  I have pondered this for quite a while, and have reached the conclusion that the best move we can make is to ensure every gun owner and/or supporter of the 2 Adm. is a member of the NRA.  While I do not totally agree with everything they do and say, they are the strongest voice for our rights.  Strength in numbers, the more members, the better their position in stopping this bill.

My friends, if you are not a member of the NRA, I recommend you join today........otherwise you can set back and wait for the bootjacks to knock on your door a seize your guns.  If you think it can't happen, you are a total fool!  JMHO.

Of coarse it was white males that didnt vote in the obama election. Every Black person who could vote did.(not intended to offend any one and if it does im sorry.) But i agree to register and vote. Weather people believe it or not one vote can make a diffrence. At one time our relatives no matter what the nationality could not vote. Mines as well take advantage of something that people died for.

I spend hundreds of dollars each and every year trying to keep the second amendment solvent. I just don't feel the need to broadcast that fact every time a post like this comes up. I do see your point though heather.

I'm sorry if I sounded rude in my earlier post.  I wasn't trying to imply that people needed to broadcast what they do personally to protect the second amendment.  I just fiound it extremley disheartening that no one paid attention to this topic.  Among gun owners I just expected to have a valid discussion on what could be done to stop HR45.  I mean this topic was only viewed 166 time and of those views only 8 people bothered to even leave a comment.  Can someone please explain to me why this doesn't seem to matter to the majority of our members?

I will say there is nothing  and I meen absolutly nothing, short of an Armed revolt that can stop ANY gun control measure that the Dem's want to push. I wouldn't put anything in the Supreme Court as being the Dems's have control of the presidency and both houses they can impeach any justice they want and replace them with one of their choosing.

Sadly, I have to agree.  They have the votes, and when this issue comes up, I think we will see an enourmous full court press from the house, senate, president and the press.

What good will it do to contact our politicals? (I will not refer to them as representing me in any way). They have the votes, they have the agenda it is just a matter of time. The time for political means to stop this passed last November. Now it is time to just sit and watch, as I said before there is nothing short of an armed revolt that will stop the Obamites.
