I finished throating the 45/70 yesterday, and reaming out and throating the BC barrel to 45/120 this evening! Everything went perfectly! Well, there was one hiccup yesterday, but with a little help from Tim today I went back and finished things up. The extension I made to hold the throater worked great and I'll be sending it to Tyler to use when he throats his 45-120. It's available for anybody who wants to use it! Kathie's mailing the reamer and throater back to 4D tomorrow and I'm gonna order the stuff I need to start reloading. LET THE FUN BEGIN!

Gonna order stuff you need to reload? I assumed that you would have already had 100 rounds made up and waiting to turn some local possum inside out!

I assumed that you would have already had 100 rounds made up Naw, I'm still trying to collect my thoughts and load data! Soon though... soon! Naw, such precautions are for the newer generation of light rifle wantin, minimal recoil tolerat-in, politically correct, sensitive, namby-pamby, girly-men type of shooters! Us real men, you know, the ones who started shootin 12 ga's and 375 H&H's when we were 5 or 6, are immune to recoil and being the "thumpee" doesn't worry us a bit.

what the rental cost ya. If you don't mind me asking. Don't mind at all. But I really don't remember exactly. One of 'em, the throater I think, was $28. I'm sure the other wasn't much more. The big dollar was the deposit, but when you give Fred your CC info, he just holds it until the reamers come back. That way it's not really part of the transaction. Go to his web site. He's got the prices there. What you thinking about doing there Jer?

I looked back on my credit card statement, it cost $63.50 for the two reamers I rented at last year at the same time, 30-30Impr and 460S&W.

Sorry, I don't have Tyler's talent. I 'spose I could try the cell phone thing at the range, but then I'd have to figure out how to upload it. Wait! Another challenge! I always said I can do anything, and with a little practice I can do anything well! No, really! Sometimes I amaze my own dad gum self! I could become a techno expert! One video coming up! <sometime...soon... trust me I'm a lawyer...>

I know for sure we have at least three lawyers on here with guns. Might be more but for sure we have three. How some ever the other two are not nearly so red necked as Richard.

I'M HERE!
Do you have any brass and bullets to see how far you can seat a bullet out? If I'm getting 2550 fps with 405 grain Remingtons and a non existent throat, you could get 2600 I bet...
6100 ft lbs, yay!

When I checked it was 19 and the wind is howling outside causing our wind chimes to dance and sing continuously. With the wind chill it's not feeling much above zero here. Of course over the weekend it will rise into the 60s.

hey Andy! It just dawned on me riding home tonight that since I reamed out the BC I won't be able to check the velocity of your load from both the 22 and 32 inch barrel! I was gonna load some 45/70's tonight, but had dog/dinner cooking/ex-wife calling problems... I'll send some over the chrono soon!
