Well guys brett Favre says he is finally done. Do you think he means it this time? I thought he played well enough this past season to continue playing. There are young QB'S that don't play as good as him. Shocked Dale

Brett goes out a "winner" with a winning season with the Jets... and I hope he actually "retires" this time.

He's an "old man" as far as pro-football players go... it's time to get out while he still has his health.

I wonder if he'll become a TV commentator?  Certainly, he "knows" football... and he had a great career.  Too bad he didn't finish with Green Bay rather than with the Jets.  Whatta great quarterback he's been.

LOL HairTrigger, I'm pretty sick of hearing about Bret Favre too. I didn't mind the talk when he was a Packer, but now that he is one of those, ah gay Queens, I JUST DON'T CARE ANYMORE!! Cheesy

Bet you Packer and Queen fans remember this one - Favre to Freeman, Monday Night Football at Lambeau Field in 2000, in Overtime. Oh the look on the faces of those Queens. I miss you Freeman!  Cry Cry Grin

He already won the big game in 1996 and had the opportunity to win it in 1997. He's been the league MVP three times, he's played 19 seasons, and he has set almost every NFL passing record in existence. Given what he has already achieved, I think there are a lot of guys out there that deserve it just as much, if not more.

None of them deserve it, if they can't do it!
Farve is doing it. He gives it his all, and is 100% football player.

WRONG!! Wink

I'd say he gives 200% on the field, not to mention that he is an excellent man off the field.

Some folks on another thread scoffed at the idea of athletes as role models for kids, but I think they'd be pretty safe letting their kids be Favre fans.

Brett St. Favre is the best QB to ever play the game in my opinion.  I said that even when he played for GB.  He now is part of the best team of his career and he is stretching out the records.  My cuz is a GB fan and he and his buddies are darn near suicidal now that Farve is a Viking.  I remember the Freeman catch, that was awesome and ole Brett seemed to always "pull it off" if given the chance but now the ball is rolling the other way.

In a little better than an hour, a history making game will commence in GB....not sure who will win but I'm behind St. Favre and the Vikes....

One of the half-time shows just showed film of Favre arriving at Lambeau Field. The fans where greeting him with cheers as he walked into the building. If I were at Lambeau today, I'd be giving him a standing ovation - until the game starts anyway, then of course he becomes the other team's quarterback. Whether the Packers win, lose, or tie, I'll still be a big Favre fan after the game.

Good game! For him to perform like that with all the hype and other bs surrounding this game is impressive in it's own right. Maybe now Green Bay management wil realize they made a mistake?  Cheesy Naah, the vikes just got lucky right Skunk!

Favre is such an attention whore, it makes me wonder if he has found another media vehicle for his ego. I don't think it is the money, but ya never know.

Vikings fans are really enjoying this. It emphasizes the traditional rivalry between Green Bay and the Vikings. It's harmless fun.
