I just bought this DW Monson M15 with 2 barrels, 4" & 6".  It's in a nice aluminum case. Case looks like it was made for the gun but my question is- anyone know if it is  a factory case or custom built or homemade?  Thanks in advance.

I don't believe it is a factory case but I could be wrong. The monson made revolvers I've seen came in a different case. Mine are in a brown, plastic case. It might be from a later gun though.

I've seen those cases for sale localy at the gunshows, NICE BTW!! Around $50.
That's not a factory DW case though..
Congrats on the 15-2, Did you aquire a barrel wrench & feeler gauge?
DW recomends .006" for the forcing cone cylinder gap but can be used with it set as small as .002", with lead bullets I'd stick with .006"

I didn't think I'd seen a case like it before but everything fit into it so well.  There's a machined steel barrel tool, no feeler guage but I have a .006 that came with a .44 that I've had for 20 yrs. or so.  I shot it with both 4" and 6" and it shot well with either.
Anyone else have any views on this case, please join in.
Thanks,

I've also seen that case at gunshops, not any factory case that I'm aware of and I've had Dan wessons since 1971 and dealt with Monson, Palmer and Norwich guns and cases.  I use the same felt marker coding for my reloads; a different color for each time reloaded.

The case is too modern to be a vintage case. Nice case I have a similiar one that a 357SM came in which I know is not vintage.

A friend has asked about buying this gun, xtra barrel, case, etc.  Any suggestions as what would be a decent price for buyer and seller?  Don't want to overcharge him just whatever the going price is.  thanks,

The Blued model 15 in good to excellent condition goes for from $295 to $350 with a 4" or 6" barrel and the barrel/shroud goes for from $80 to $100, and case around $35; so complete is from $410 to $485.

Thanks, BLHOF, that's more than I thought.  Then $350 should be a pretty good deal for him.
Thanks again,

Looking thru a box of stuff today and found a new M15 .357 heavy shroud and barrel and end cap.  Have no idea where they came from or when I got them but they look kinda neat on this
15, gives it a whole different balance. anxious to go try it out.
