I just found out the sights on the DW S.S. 6" .357 I bought has fixed sights.  How rare are these?  I have not seen or read of fixed sights before, I just sorta thought that all of these revolvers came with adjustable ones.  I don't have it yet, still being shipped, but from what I can see in the pictures the rear sight is molded into the frame whereas the adj. ones have a milled in cutout.  Basically what I am asking is did I just get bent over the barrel?  Oh yeah I paid 300.

The fixed sight models were the service models and are slightly less common.  The price is still right if it's in good to better condition.  The only problem is if you change barrels as the adjustable sight models have a different height front sight.  Is your gun a Monson or Palmer made gun?  Palmer made some fixed barrel models with fixed rear sights.

Sorry I haven't replied earlier, I've been busy!  It is a Monson model, it was originally part of a pistol pack, but has been separated out and only has the 6" barrel.
