I saw a compact glock in 45 acp today at a gunshop. Asking price is $551. Is this a good price? I'm seriously thinking about buying this gun.

Mdl 30 or 36? Sounds about a "C" note on the high side price wise. Maybe I just haven't bought a Glock in a few years and the price is current. Check as many gunshops as you can, and check on line too. That will help you get a feel for pricing in your area. Savage

Obama's health care plan will:
* Be written by a committee whose head says he doesn't understand it. * Be passed by a Congress that hasn't read it (but exempts themselves from it). * Be signed by a president who smokes (and also hasn't read it). * Have funding administered by a treasury chief who did not pay his taxes. * Be overseen by a surgeon general who is obese. * Be financed by a country that is nearly broke.
What could possibly go wrong?

Would agree with that being in ball park for price now days but never hurts to check around. Shot my sons duty G-45 and to me it felt better recoil wise then the 40.

I just bought a G36 with night sights NIB for $599 at a local pawn/gun shop. I thought it was a good deal because of the sights.

I paid $500 OTD for my G29SF and it handles LSWC/HP & JHP/ST just fine w/o a problem.
10 mm for when 45ACP is just not enough!!!

I basically got my Glock 27 for free yesterday! I had an old Smith & Wesson revolver that in all honesty was collectible. I paid 300.00 for it many years ago and it just sat in its box most of the time. A buddy of mine bought the 27 as a backup duty gun and then decided that he really didn't like it when he shot it. He told me he would give me it and 300.00 for that old S&W... I did have to think about it over night but then my practical side kicked in. I would never get offered this kind of value again for that old gun and I never used it anyway. Getting about 800.00 value for a gun I paid 300.00 for was too hard to pass up. Won't say what kind of S&W it was but we both were happy with the deal and that is all that matters anyway. This little model 27 is a fantastic little handgun, I would love to have one of the little 9MMs now. To answer the original question though, that price is along the lines of the prices around where I live also.

In my area, the Glock 45acp cal are going for $570 and the model 20 Glock (10mm) is going for $625 new price! I like the model 27 & 26 but I also like being able to get my hand on them securely in one quick motion, having a good grip on the weapon. Something I really could not master with that shortened grip.
I went to the Glock 21-SF for carry purposes, using my other 10mm Glock as a back up tool. I personally believe the 45acp is a better "stopper round" up close within 21 feet. It is also hard not to like the idea of 13 rounds in the 45acp weapon.
Now for those that don't realize or have knowledge of the fact, I was shooting 100 feet today at the range with a Glock 20, 10mm cal making head shots on the target. This weapon needs not to be raised to score hits, just aim and fire. The 165 grain bullet gets there in a hurry and shoots very flat. Holding middle of the head sight picture, the Glock 20 put all hits eye-level on target or middle of the head on the target. YES! The 10mm Rocks N Rolls em in a hurry!!!
