Got this last week from Grover's son.  He said Bill carried it quite a bit.  You can tell from the blue wear on the leading edges.  I'm so ready to shoot it.

If I ever got rid of it, it'd be offered to you first.  I'd love to trade up on one in mintier condition.

That could very well be arranged.   Grin

Bill Grover's son contacted me about my critical comments about his father.  He felt I was out of line to complain that I paid in full for a No 5 and never got it.  Wish he had sent this to me instead of selling it to you.

As a TLA fan I don't know if I would ever be able to trade off Bill's personal #5...  I'd be looking for another one or two or three or..... All the while keeping Bill's gun...

I hate the way I hear TLA ended...  There is a danger in letting someone else have control over something that has your name on it...  I am sure that some people will hold him responsible forever....

And I am one of those people, I paid a deposit to have my pistol made, had letters stating it would be K-294, got a letter signed by Bill Grover, stated "Your pistol is ready to ship" send the balance.  I did, never got the pistol.  I have been very critical of him, his son took great offense at some of my comments, and contacted me telling me so.  He never offered to send me a #5 that was in his possession to make up for the one that I paid in full for and never got.

90north,

Do you remember the date you got the letter stating your pistol was ready to ship?  It is okay if you don't want to share it, but I've been constructing a timeline for TLA and your info would be helpful with it.

I'm sorry you got shafted.  You aren't the only person with a story like this and the only ones who really know what went down anymore are God and Grover's former partner.  Having had a bit of exposure to Grover's son, I'm not sure he would have even had the gun that Mtn Cowboy bought at the time he gave you grief over your comments.

In October 1997, I ordered a "Grovers Improved No. 5" in .45 Colt, with an extra .45 ACP cylinder, also to be Mag-Na-Ported.  The total was $1440.00 and I sent a Postal Money Order for $645.00 as a deposit.  I received a letter from Bill Grover dated 12-2-97 stating my No. 5 Serial Number K-294 was ready to ship.  I sent a FFL and a money order for $906.63, no gun every arrived.  Lots of promises from various lawers who after a while just quit answering my letters.

90north,

Thank you for that info.  That helps my research a lot.
