How do you measure, to the frame or to the front edge of cyl.? Mine are 4 3/4 or 5 1/2 for my 45 Colt for example...........??

From the edge of the forcing cone to the muzzle. As you put it, the edge of the cylinder to the muzzle. The actual measurement for the 4" barrel is 4 5/8".
