As far as I know they are still in business, I don't think they ever update their catalog other than the price sheet......... I bought my first SB catalog back in 1978? 79? and it IS the one up on the site.

They make really high quality barrels. However, if you want an actual rifled piece you must also purchase a carriage from Paulson Brothers Ordnance, they will not sell you a rifled barrel without it (PBO makes/provides the liner). You can purchase a smooth bore barrel from them w/o a carriage...
I went with Steen Cannons for my two rifled Parrotts a few years ago as I already had the carriages. Steen also makes very high quality barrels. In fact, we won the Bacon Creek Match at Camp Grayling Michigan this year with one of our Steen barrels, a 1,000 yard match shooting into a single sheet of newspaper (recreation of an actual historic event). After one sighter shot we placed the next 7 out of 9 rounds into the 4'X6' wood backer, 3 of which were in the newspaper (a 4th missed by an inch). We were VERY pleased, especially considering we had never shot beyond 600 yards before, and no other unit hit the paper even once! It was a bit warm making sighting difficult (heat waves) and windy. We had to point our piece just left of the target to get it to come back on target with the wind! BTW, these were 3" diameter 10 lb. bolts with a full service load of 1 lb and they still drifted approximately 3', and the front sight looked bigger than the target at that range... At home we can shoot bulls eyes every time at 600 yards pointing dead on. Down side is if you do not make your own ammo it costs approximately $75 per shot with bolt, powder & primer, and the average shoot takes 15 rounds.

RocklockI, Order one of their catalogs. It is a really nice book I think. I copied several of my wooden guns from there. Zulu

I believe this is correct. To the best of my knowledge, they will not send you a current price sheet; you have to buy a(nother) catalogue. I don't know why they don't just put the prices on their website.

They undoubtedly sell many times as many catalogs as cannons. And the catalogs are not just newsprint.
I would expect they would tell you over the phone the current price of a specific piece.

Thanks Boomlover. I have been interested in artillery for many years, ever since receiving a small muzzle loading cannon as a gift when I was 11 or 12. GGaskill, you are quite correct: the catalogues are "not just newsprint" and they contain lots of good (B&W) photos and safety tips. But when you have one, that's enough. You are likely correct that they will quote individual prices over the telephone. Unfortunately, in the Internet age we are all lazy and prefer to simply click on a mouse and obtain all the information we want instantaneously. Still, they have been in business for many years and I guess their way of doing things must be working for them!

The catalog has a page kind of in the middle of the "small photos of original cannons" section of some stuff in my collection ca. 1987 when Paul Barnett came to visit. On that trip he was doing an "1812 Symphony" shoot, July 4th, at Wolf Trap Farm Park nearby. There are hundreds of little photos of original cannons displayed in out of the way places that you'd never know about otherwise, many aren't in any books other than that catalog.
