decided to get another 308
scored a very clean 700 LTR with a jewell trigger from my local FFL

did my first range session this evening

worked up a few loads, stopped on #2, from the Sierra guide
43g of Varget, Federal brass (got Lapua in today) CCI BR primers and 165g Sierra Gameking BTSP, 2.80 COL

I may later try some hotter rounds, but these out shot the Federal Match, so..

the Jewell trigger is NICE and VERY light, I need to increase the weight, it's got to be down in the ounces.....

I am quite happy with the gun and hope to wack a hog over the weekend with it
4 shots (all I had of this load)

Nice rifle, they generally tend to be shooters with little or any work on them straight from the factory.

I was gonna say that you pulled one on the first group. Those rifles will shoot! Prvi Partizan 168 grain match ammo works very well if you don't reload. I intend to hunt with mine as well, but I will be using the 165 grain Ballistic Tip.

I did paint it
clean the whole thing with brake cleaner, lots of it!

then mask off what you don't want painted

I use a base coat of OD green
let it dry for 15 minutes then start alternating tan and brown and black for shadows
just using Krylon camo paint and some leaves and twigs
