like new condition stainless magnum research .500 s&w revolver. this gun is worth $1000 new and im only asking $600...This thing is definitley a BEAST!!
I bet the recoil alone is enough to hurt a beast. I've heard the quality is there, but how about shooting a single action revolver in this caliber?

$600? Buy it! Ask if he has brass, dies, and bullets.... I plan to replace my X frame S&W with a BFR ASAP...

Good deal! I can't speak from experience, but a freind of mine has the BFR, his son has a S&W. He prefers the BFR over the S&W because the felt recoil is less. He even shoots his one handed but then he's a BIG BOY!

Talk you out of it, no way. I have a 500 Mag BFR myself and love it. I have taken Dee, Black Bear and Hogs with it. All one shot kills and very short recoveries. The gun is very accurate and reliable.
I say get it.....

Shot one a few years ago at the shooting fair. We had 5 BFR's in the booth. 45-70, 500S&W, 444Marlin, 450 marlin, and I think 30-30. but we were shooting all one handed, except the 450 Marlin. the idea of an elephant round special out of a handgun scared me and did not sound fun. The only down side I can see to the 500 is the long cylinder for a short case and all the free bore. But it did not seem to hurt the accuracy out to 40 yards (end of the range) and we were shooting heavy loads.

The free bore does not affect accuracy out to 100 yards either in my BFR 500 Mag...

If you are looking for a reason not to get it. At the shooting fair. we went through almost 2000 rounds of 500 S&W over three days. the only failure we had was the screw holding the ejector rod backed out and fell off taking the ejector rod and cover with it. So if you shoot it alot....it may come apart on you. But that was just under 2000 rounds of full house loads over three days with out cleaning or checking the gun at all. Just load and shoot, put away at the end of the day and bring it back out for the next day. The first weekend of June in Norco CA they have a shooting fair where you can try out new fire arms and see if you like them. it is usually in the high 90's to low 100's for the three days, add all the carnival food, the dust, and the mist from the water trucks. I worked in the booth for a friend who is the Rep for IMI and we get 5-6 BFR's a year as well as 6-8 Desert eagles. We get so and some duplicates especally in the desert eagles because it is a hot and dusty weekend and with the people handleling the guns on the line they gunk up. The bigger the bore the more they get shot. All the BFR guns have the novelty effect and people want ot try them out. Agai nwe went through almost 2,000 rounds of 500 S&W in three days and had to raise the price to slow down the demand so we would not run out of ammo for people that want to buy one rather than just shoot the biggest thing. If you are looking for a 500 I don't think you can go wrong.

If you don't buy it, you'll regret it. Think of it as an investment in a new shooting future; at least that's what I tell my wife when I find a great deal like that is.

You shot Dee? I was wondering where he went. That's a deal right there. Hurry up before it's gone.

It strikes me that if you are asking someone to talk you "out of buying it" that you know deep down you should not but are bound and determined to do it anyway. Been there done that. Most times I regreted the decision later.
You shot Dee? I was wondering where he went?
I think It would take something like a 500S&W to even think about shooting Dee. anything less would just make him mad.

Buy it for $600 , sell it to me for $625, win-win. Happy to help a brother avoid a back breaking load of regret. Best wishes,

I apologize to you guys, but I haven't come back to check this post for a while. I decided not to add to my wrist problems with a gun like this one, so I passed on it. I haven't seen the ad for a while either, so I think it was sold to someone else. Thanks for all the input.
