I don't post here as much as I'd like, but do a lot of reading here as this is the largest forum I've ever been on. Thanks for being a great forum and a great bunch of fellas. Here's my question:
A user over at another forum I frequent posted and asked about Trijicon Night Sights for a Series 90 Colt Defender 3"? Does anyone know if Trijicon makes them and if so, where he can find a set? I'll relay all information...thanks.
Boonie

... strange, I just joined two or three days ago, got a bunch of answers for a bunch of questions, sorry you got snubbed
I've never paid for new sights, installed new ones, .. heck the 1911 I've got now is gi so it doesn't even have a slide cut. I used to have a taurus pt1911, it wasn't a great pistol but the thing shot pretty accurately - it had heinie sights.
then again I wanted gi so I won't get snags on my torso, thigh, etcetera... I just decided to concentrate harder
single shots should be achieveable but rapid fire in a defense situation.. I can't personally track the sights in rapid fire either way but my eyes are bad. I forget the brand name but some company makes triangle/pyramid sights- maybe you can look that up and get a few reviews on that one (it seems like it would work but then again I was thinking ccw with mine so I'm no help)

Thanks Squib. I don't think anyone knew the answer, so no posting. It makes sense. The guy who has the Defender called Trijicon and asked and it seems they don't make them for that Colt. It seems that Colt has so many sight groove cuttings it would be a horror show for Trijicon to try and make one for each type. He's S.O.L. on getting anything Trijicon for it, at least for the time being.
I appreciate the post.

I'm not well versed in high dollar pistol or even high dollars so I can put some use on a pos before I throw it out and know some machinists ...
I can't tell you about the great gear out there but I can tell you about the junk!

I see the question now. I thought you were asking if they made them. If they make them any GOOD Smith worth his salt can craft a new dovetail and fit the new sights. Vandenberg, here in Houston, has done this for me several times over. Sorry for the misunderstanding---still it is good to know that one of the boys wouldn't BS you. Blessings

Boonie: Hey, it's huntin' season in most places and as Moderator here I do not believe you have been snubbed but in all honesty, some may not know the answer.
If you have a question about Trijicon sights on a short barrelled 1911, call Trijicon and see what they have to say. They may have a specific series of sights for shorter semi autos.
I have been busy trying to reduce the size of the local Whitetail herd myself, or I woulda answered sooner. In fact, this year I am using my 1911 as a hunting sidearm. I have loaded it with my pet loads which are sufficient for Whitetail. The Whitetail just have not cooperated yet......................
Call or e-mail Trijicon directly for the best advice. Hope this helps.

Darn, well pardon me for asking. A couple days with no replies is hardly snubbing. Not all members login daily, and some, like myself had nothing meaningful to contribute on your topic. Guess that's why I'm posting this meaningless reply now-------lol Savage

Obama's health care plan will:
* Be written by a committee whose head says he doesn't understand it. * Be passed by a Congress that hasn't read it (but exempts themselves from it). * Be signed by a president who smokes (and also hasn't read it). * Have funding administered by a treasury chief who did not pay his taxes. * Be overseen by a surgeon general who is obese. * Be financed by a country that is nearly broke.
What could possibly go wrong?

Tooltech I believe installs sights for Trijicon. They will install the Trijicon vials in your existing sights. Been planning to send my Defender slide in (only want installed on the front sight). After that is done, may send some more to them if I like it. http://www.tooltechgunsight.com/
