has anyone saw these little pistols? I have recently gotten a nice little .38 snubby 5 shot double action good bluing. it is a great shooting little gun but i cant find muc infrmation on these little guns

RGs are the original poster firearm for Saturday Night Specials according to the late Sen. Kennedy. To be fair RG, made in Germany, actually had to tiers of firearms, some of the more expensive revolvers (over $50 circa late 1970s money) were a good value..... But the odds are you have the model 31. It came in .38 special and .32 S&W Long. They retailed new (circa mid 1970s) at $25 US. It was the Highpoint pistol of its time but has a spotty track record for reliably. Like said Highpoint it would make a great fishing weight.

like ive said i know nothing about this gun except it shoots straight. exceptional accuracy for a snubby as in can hit a coffee can at 50 yards. im guessing it is good shooting for a snubby anyway

I had one at one time and it was a good little gun Wasn't as pretty as some of the higher end guns I used to tell everybody that RG stood for REAL GUN

Until recently,  past experience had me convinced that the RG and Rossi guns were trash, however, I recently had a chance to fire both guns while at a friends house.  The Rossi was a 2 inch 5 shot .38, a close clone of the Smith model 60.  It seemed to be a well made little gun, and would definitely serve as a CCW, likely a very reliable one.  The RG was a RG-38S with a four inch barrel.  It too was a fairly decent little gun and both shot very well using milsurp  ball,  semi wad cutters and  Remington JHPs.

I am hung up on Smith and SIG so neither the Rossi or RG would be my gun of choice for personal defense, but either should do a fine job if nothing else were available, they are also excellent little guns for fun shoots. (I just don’t know how they would hold up over the long haul.)

so far i hve shot about 3 and a half boxes through it. from 110 gran hollow points to 158 grain round nose and hollow points. it seems to be very accurate for a snubby shoots about a 2.5 inch group at 25 yards off a rest with almost anything. so far no misfies no fail to fire or anything like that. thanks for your info though

I came across a 6 shot RG snubbie 4 years back,no regrets. The finish isn't pretty, but its a reliable and accurate .38 and it cost me 85 bucks. It won't be up for sale.
