I have a Stainless-Steel Encore Rifle in .30-06 I have been shooting for a while. I have a Synthetic T/C Forend on this barrel that has been Pillar Bedded. In addition the tops of the posts that the forend screws pass through to the barrel have been bedded to match the contour of the barrel.

When I put this Rifle together I torqued the Forend Screws to 25 In Lbs. Today I was showing my Encore to a buddy and noticed I could wiggle my forend front to back slightly. I checked and my screws had loosened slightly.

When I retorqued my forend screws I first torqued them to 25 In Lbs, then increased the setting on my Torque Screwdriver and torqued them again at 30 In Lbs.

Just curious if some of you guys are torquing your Encore Forend Screws, and if so what Torque setting are you using?

Thanks

Larry

On my wildcat .25X.307 I maintain 22 inch pounds. The 7mm Rem. Mag likes 25.  Both are pillar bedded.

Thanks

I increased mine to 30 in lbs and it hasn't came loose since.

I'll have to experiment with different settings next spring when I have more time.

Does anybody have instructions for pillar bedding?  Do you need separate forends for tapered and bull barrels?
