Ive been asked to moderate this fourm and accepted. Truthfully i know very little about Texas longhorn guns so i cant be of much help with the technical questions but what i will do set down a couple rules. First no load posting unless you can quote it from a manual or a good reliable source that i approve of NO EXCEPTIONS. In my opinion specific load questions belong on the reloading forum. Second is please try to keep it civil. You guys that know me know i speak my mind and allways will. I can deal with some mild language but please lets not get personal here. Take that crap to the PM route. Thanks guys and gals and enjoy. One more thing no Elmer Keith bashing or cast bullet bashing allowed :-D

Well this just gives you a reason to run out and buy a couple new guns.  Tell Lisa you need them for research.

Lloyd

I just learned that Bill Grover had passed away, The shooting society will miss a good man and one heck of a gunsmith, Not many of his standard.
But we all must go some time............Joe.......

oso 45-70, that "good man" you speak of was, in my opinion, a liar and a thief.  I put a deposit on an improved no 5 (K294) to be exact.  I got a letter from Bill Grover, that the pistol was ready, send the rest of the money.  Sent the rest, no pistol, no money, nothing.  Got another letter, he said he would make it right with me, I suggested he send me his personal no 5.  No further contact with him.

90north,  sorry to hear that.  You must be one of the unlucky ones who didnt get their sixgun before Grover lost his company.  I had called Grover and made arraingements to go see him before he lost out. I got wind of some of his troubles.  As a result I didnt put any money down on a sixgun.  It was about 8 years before I could find some TLA's to buy.  The ones I got are wonderful.

So, how about a little more info on your K329?  Is it a 44 mag #5 or something more exotic?

Just found your site and was wondering about an Improved #5 I bought from bill Grover in the late 1990.  I'm looking for the paper work for the exact date.  I talked to Mr. Grover in October of 1999 but didn't know there was any difference in the numbering and markings so didn't know to ask him about his marking and numbering system.

Extremely well put together gun that is an excellent shooter but I only shot about 50 rounds through it before deciding to put it away and shoot less expensive 44 magnums revolvers.

any info to   LVWC@volcano.net
