Two Bears, I'm new to all this and I need some helpful advice. If this isn't the standard way to ask for help, well, I'm sorry but I don't know how to post yet. Recently I bought an Encore pro hunter in a 30-06 with a stainless barrel. The guy told me a standard encore scope base wouldn't fit, that I'd have to use a Leupold. The screws the Leupold came with were too big and I wound up having to use tiny screws to attach the base to the barrel. Then, the other day, I took it to the range for the first time and shot standard Remington PSP 165 grain bullets through it. Now I've shot several 30-06s in the past and none of them have the muzzle rise this one does - I'd say it rose about 75-80 degrees, almost straight up. I don't know if there's a problem, but it sure seems like there is. I really didn't expect anything like this from Thompson Center. I think the gun may be dangerous to shoot, maybe too much pressure.
From what I've read on the site, I wondered if they gave me a Bergara barrel since an extruded barrel might cause a lot of pressure ( if I got it right). Can you help me please. If you don't know then maybe you could ask around for me. I thank you in advance for your help and the benefit of your experience. Yours truly, Dcomposer Comment by: dcomposer
