Ridiing and hunting.
45-70.gov:
i have just used my rifle sling as it was meant to be used and rode to the woods
got a few funny looks......glad i got skunked again
would really get some stairs with a deer over the handle bars
Dirt Bag:
Soft take down cases - guns apart (Mod 97s, 12s, old doubles) - can lay them in the bags on the Road King with just the tips sticking out to the front, and latch the rear buckle only. Never had any problems.

AtlLaw:
I have often thought on this subject and haven't come up with any good ideas. :-[ Small game wouldn't be bad if you use a take downable firearm or pistol. But most all of my hunting is deer hunting. You take most rifles down and you should recheck your zero. And I never could figure out how a deer would do riding Bi#@*. ???
So, 3 or 4 years ago I rode the 240 miles to where I hunt carrying nothing. I had left it all at my friend's house the week before. And we have a cooler for the deer. They can stay there until I come back in a cage the next week. See boys, just a little prior planning! ;D
S.E.Ak:
My varmit fun gun is a 22 hornet H&R. I had the barrel cut to 16 1/4" and put an AR type adjustable stock on it and scope in quick release rings. It fits complettly in my saddel bags and so far has always gone back together a shooter.
Swampman:
A NEF Handi Rifle or a Savage 24 will fit in most backpacks when disassembled. I took a Savage 24 home from the gunshow not too long ago in my daypack while riding my Harley.
