Did they eat just the ears of the corn? I would guess that's all. If they didn't eat the spuash they had a prefered food source. I haven't sen anything they wouldn't eat in central mississippi. Lhey will leave a few stubs sticking out of the ground. ear

Here they eat maters , take one bite out of each one .cabbage and collards get eaten also along with most greens . All beans get gone. Funny thing is they won't touch baled hay even with a foot of snow on the ground. Here they also won't eat deer corn until it has been rained on , what's up with that ?

They really like strawberry plants.
They eat them off right to the ground. My patch was within thirty feet of a dog pen with four large dogs in it and that didn't even slow them down. Heck, I think they were on a first name basis with my dogs. I finally had to fence the patch in to get any berries. They like carrots in the late fall also. I didn't begrudge them the carrots as much as the strawberrys.

Here they hit about mid july when late peas and water mellons are starting to get ready and most natural forage is drying out and they get about everythiing, clean. okra is a prefered, ear
