Sight for Browning mod 64 218 Bee

I have a Skinner Barrel Mount Dovetail sight on my Browning 64 in 218 Bee. Its shooting about 1 1/2" at 50 yards offhand and provides a very easy to use sight picture.
We are hearing the same report from many customers about our Barrel mounted aperture / peep sight.
They say, "I wasn't sure this would work... ITS AMAZING! I'm getting great groups and its very easy to see"
Our barrel mounts are easy to install, easy to adjust, and are a win win for the shooter.

If you would like to mount a receiver peep sight where one was designed to be mounted - near the eye, on the receiver - the rifle would been to be drilled/tapped in one way or another.
Those options are:
* One (1) 6-48 hole atop the rear half of the bolt C/L for a Skinner LoPro w/6-48 stem.
* One (1) 10-32 hole stop the rear action tang about 1.5" ahead of the tang screw for a Marbles or Lyman #2 Model 92/65/94 (samey-same) tang peep sight.
* Two (2) 6-68 holes, either on the upper rear LH receiver wall near the locking bolt for a side-mount peep for the Winchester 94 from Williams (FP-94 or 5D-94), Lyman (#66), etc: or one hole each atop the left/right receiver walls in the same area for a Winchester M94 Angle Eject top-mount peep ( FR94-AE or 5D94-AE).
Model 53's & 65's are the same as Model 92's and take the same sights as Model 94's.
Only the side-mount peep might require a front sight blade higher than issue to zero the rifle - and don't forget to either order or make a slot filler blank for the empty barel dovetail, after the issue rear bbl sight is removed for a clean sight picture.
BTW, IF a tang peep sight is decided upon, leave the issue front & change the rear barrel sight to a fold, then sight in the rifle with TWO zeroes - a relatively short range zero for the rear bbl, then fold it & zero the tanger for a much longer range.
In field use, the rifle's carried with the tanger folded & bbl sight "up", for close/sudden shots; there's usually ample time to fold the bbl sight & raise the tanger if/when a target further away is spotted.

I will have to take a look at the Skinner, I would prefer not to do any drilling and tapping if I can avoid it.

I've got to weigh in on this one.... Initially, I thought the aperture needed to be closer to the eye to work well... Well... I was wrong. Sure! Closer to the eye is always good... But certainly not essential. As a matter of fact, I've had many customers report, "I didnt think this would work... but I'm shooting the best groups I've ever shot!!!" (and that with Skinner Barrel Mounted Aperture sights)
My experience is that many will make a decision on whether the barrel mounted aperture works or doesnt work based on idea and theory and have not actually used one for serious testing.
Recently I had the chance to visit with a regular poster and moderator on Cast BOOLITS . com (actually purchased a Marlin 45-70 from him) I asked what lever gun he was shooting? "A Winchester 94" So I gave him one. He posted a review of that sight on his 94 saying he achieved groups about the same as with his tang mounted sight.
Even today I heard from an Australian Skinner shooter who mounted a BARREL MOUNT on his 1894 Winchester. He was SO happy with it, he ordered another one for his Taurus.
Judging from the numbers of BARREL MOUNTS ( http://www.skinnersights.com/barrel_mount_6.html) we are selling... its working well!
If you do not want to drill and tap, want to use the sight with your factory front sight, and have a superior sighting system to the orig. open "buckhorn" style sights... TRY THE BARREL MOUNT ! :)
All theory aside... for general shooting, quick and accurate... THEY WORK!
