I'm not sure if any of Bill's line of Nobles are related to the Anniston Nobles...
Richard H. Nobles, b. abt. 1800, shows a wife, Alice, b. abt. 1818, on the 1850 Bedford Co., TN, census. Everyone in the family shows as being born in NC. I found a posting (don't have the URL handy right now...) that says Alice's maiden name was Post and that her father was a preacher and the family moved to AL. I have not been able to verify this. There was another Richard H. Nobles in the Lenoir Co., NC, area, so it's proving difficult to figure out where Bill's Richard H. was pre 1850.
From the letter posted online (above), and with help of other researchers, I can tell you that Richard's parents were George and Pattie Davis Noble(s). George and Pattie married before 1800, probably in Lenoir Co., NC. Their children were:
Richard H. - married Alice (nee unknown)
Patsy - married unknown Taylor
Winnifred - married James J. Rhodes (Baptist preacher)
William A. - married Elizabeth (nee unknown) *William's son, Isaac, wrote the letter*
Zylphia L. - married Needham West
The family originated in NC (at least as far back as I've been able to get), but the children moved on to TN, AR and MO. It's very possible some of the children or grandchildren did indeed move into AL.
