KHAN O/U Shotguns - Any info?
« on: October 01, 2005, 05:31:05 pm »
I've got two girls 12 & 13.   They are 4-H shooters.  They are both over 5'6".

My oldest can handle my Win 101 (12ga) just fine.  The 12 year old is a few months away from that.

I'm looking at the Khan Atemis Supremes in 12.  I like the fit of the H/W and they seem to handle well.

They will be shooting Trap, Skeet & Sporting Clays.  I usually practice with 7/8 oz loads and in league I use either 1oz of 1-1/8 oz loads, so recoil is not a huge issue.

Has anyone used the Khan shotguns, and how do they hold up?

(Since they will be shooting skeet & SC I really don't want to have them worry about pumping)

They are the Huglu under a different name and with some different finish options. Still made by Huglu in Turkey. I have a Huglu .410 SxS Bobwhite imported by CZ and I like it. Nice quality at an affordable price.

I have a Khan Artiemus in 12 ga. I mostly hunt with it. and occasionally shoot sporting clays. My buddy and I bought ours at the same time he has had to replace a broken firing pin but he shoots alot more than I do ($100 repair bill for both) he may have had some other work done also. The gun also does not have ejectors. and I had to clean -up the threads on my choke tubes to get them to fit properly . I have never patterned my gun so I have no info on that , but I'm usually in the 70's shooting sporting clays

If they are Huglu's then I have 2 O/U's from CZ, the Woodcock Deluxe models. I have 12 & 20 ga and think they are very good. Both point where they should when I mount and aim. No problems so far (500 rounds each).

Huglu is the Turkish manufacturer. Khan and now CZ not Armscor imports them. Yes they are all the same basic gun made in the same plant but to somewhat different specs. Khan has many different finish and engraving options that CZ doesn't import.

Replaced the firing pins in my Khan today...had trouble finding them as well as my gunsmith..Century was no help. he ended up making me two sets for $50.00 and had them ready for me in a day..I still think the gun is worth it. I think my choke tubes still cost more than I have into the gun  (400.00)-Kevin
