Chapter 1...Landfall
September, 1970. Our unit had been pulled out of Vietnam by Presidential decree. The war was
still not over and, so, many of us felt that to leave before the job was done was, in a word, simply
the wrong thing to do. But Marines follow orders and so we found ourselves arriving on the island
of Oahu in the state of Hawaii.
Many of us had never been to Hawaii. And, except for a short 6-hour stopover 9 months earlier to

Rick's Version Of the GGGH

Folks,
I've put this off long enough, now is the time that the Truth Comes out. It was really an
Experiment, GB and JR were the fellows that , I got to try this on. I work for Ga. Tech and

Ok please be kind. I am not a writer. I am going out on a limb by even posting this. It is essentially a window to my life. Ann is my grandmother. She is the strongest woman I know. I am writing her story to draw from her strength. I am dealing with some issues and it helps to put them into words. This story is mostly real. There is some fiction but only to serve the purpose to fill in the gaps of what I have been told. Someone out there needs to read this. I'm not sure who, but it was laid on my conscious to post this against my better judgment. I hope it helps.
I've never had a blog before... for as much time as I spend on the web, you'd think I'd have a clue about this stuff. TOTALLY LOST I TELL YA! This is gonna take some work!
