Default Something new in the safe

Today I brought home a Mauser Broomhandle with a Chinese copied detachable holster/stock. It has been
refinished and has an excellent bore. I got it from Gunbroker. It is the standard model with a 5.5" barrel
and the large grips. All the numbers match except for the bolt which doesn't have a number. It should
be a good shooting pistol.

Yes. Bought a case of ammo about 9 months ago. The last Bolo I got has a bad barrel and the rounds
are hitting the target sideways at 25yds. I think this newer one will be much more accurate.

Hmmmm, whose ammo is that? I know that Fiochhi makes 7.63 mm Mauser pistol ammo and although externally identical, Sellier anad Bellot make the 7.62 x 25 mm Tokarev round. Ballistically both cartridges are identical: the Mauser round takes a 88 gn bullet at about 1,390'/sec and the Tokarev a 85 gn bullet at 1,400'/sec. The cautionary note here involves mil-surp submachine gun ammo with may be loaded to higher pressures than those old beauties can handle. As well, Ron Reed of Reed's Custom Ammo, also a Graybeard member and sponsor I believe who is listed in the sponsor list, makes correct ammunition for the older Broomhandles. Sounds like a lot of fun. You have a hard time finding one of those around here.

The one in Joe Kid is a typical Hollywood gun. He must have shot it at least 20 times without a reload.

I ordered the ammo from https://www.sgammo.com and the manufacturer is PPU. For a while it was available in a hollow point loading, too.
