Default CVA 50 Mag hunter breach plug Question.

I think Big Block would know the answer as he is our Muzzleloader expert so to speak but others are welcome to chine in.
I have a very nice CVA 50 mag hunter, looks stainless with real tree stock, but it has two things I am really not happy with one is the fact that it has a short second, Primer pops then the powder pops when I try to use BP 209 and the other is the primer spray because of the slot in the Breach plug. I saw a post where the owner of the same rifle made a modification on his to cure that problem but I do not quite understand how he went at it. Second is could I drill the face of the breach plug a little deeper like they do on the mountain Rifle and get BP 209 to work?
