Default Dam a spring

i have white Quartz all over my land. They say where white Quartz is so is gold. A few years ago I built a rock dam across the spring in a few places. The dams are 2'+ high. And about 15' apart. Now it's all filled in with sandy soil. It's time to pan it all above the dams and below the dams. Also the bottom of each water fall. My gutt feeling is there is gold for the taking. What do you think?

Where you find gold, you'll usually find white quartz. But, the reverse is not true. If it were, I'd be digging up my whole property. It's full of white quartz.

Is there any black dirt in with the sandy soil? Gold is heavy and tends toward low spots or crevices in the rocks. Black dirt is a good place to start looking.
