Woods bummin with my 45

Still my most grabbed rifle.

I love this thing. I really need the Talo Trapper 357 to keep it company.

That's a sweet looking rifle man. 45 Colt I presume? Tell us about it. I don't think it came from the factory that way!

You have good taste, Joe :tango_face_wink:
My 357 std barrel on the case colored frame wore the 'classic' wood for a while but with the carbine forend (I changed it up to a palletwood set a while back; these are just so easy to mix & match). Ive yet to install a front sight, have a Williams WGRS ready to go but any blade would look like a gut hook without a ramp installed up front, so Ive been using a tidy old El Paso Weaver 2.5X. With it I KNOW it will be a shooter with irons too :tango_face_grin:.
You keep yer eye out for a 357 and I'll keep mine out for a 45.

Yes, 45. Basically as factory, but I added some Buffalo Classic sights and longer forend, and a butt cuff a friend made me.

That would be a nice setup. I got rid of my 357 because it was the heavy barrel, which i couldnt stand. A tapered barrel, something like the old Toppers, would be ideal!! That's why i want the Talo Trapper.

Nice looking rifle!! I'm considering de-scoping my 158 Topper 30/30 and installing a peep sight. Maybe one of my .357's too.

The 30-30 really does shine with a tidy scope as it is a true small bore express cartridge and can reach on out there, especially in a single shot reloaded with spitzers.
The 357 can reach out 'some', though nowhere in the same league and once confident in its capabilities (and limitations) by use of a scope I can see having a nice set of 'irons' to switch to.

just perfect

Nice! As I was clicking on the thread, I thought about all my various .45s I enjoy woodsbumming with. Two of them are H&Rs: a .45/70 and a ca. 1972 .45 Huntsman. I've been meaning to get a WGRS for both, or I might just make my own peep sight for the Huntsman.

I like my 45 colt, except for the huge chamber. Think I'll start a new thread for some ideas on what to do with it. Nice looking rig you have Joe S. DP
