Default Took The .35 Out Today

Had a little time this morning so I ran to the range with the .35 Rem. Handi. It really like the Leverevolution ammo. I would love to find a cast load that shoots as good, but haven't found the right combo yet.

I hope to get a deer or two with it this year.

Mine is a bolt action but it likes the LVR ammo too. I found the LVR powder bottle has 35 Rem load data on it using the 200gr FTX bullet. It nearly duplicates factory ammo velocity and accuracy. I carried mine last week while black bear hunting. While I didn't see any bears I certainly felt as if the rifle and load were up for the task. Can't really say how I would react to seeing a bear for the first time, but I've been in tight spots with a rifle before and performed just fine.

Thanks, Dinny

I reload and shoot 348 Win, 358 Win, 6.5 Grendel, 30-06 Springfield, 300 BLK, 44 Mag, 357 Maximum, 9mm, 45 ACP, 45 Colt, 225 Win and 35 Rem

When loading NOE 182 grain wfn for my .35 Handi, I have to seat them pretty deep in order for them to chamber. Anyone else encounter this?

My 35 Rem Handi is my only Handi that shoots Leverevolution decent. But it still shoots Remington core lokts better. Haven't started to reload for it yet.

303 Britt is my favorite Handi!

Many 35 Rem rifles have been found to have short throats. The problem is probably more noticeable with wider bullet nose profiles like the WFN. You might consider then RCBS 35-200.

Mine's a Rem Model 7.

Thanks, Dinny

Thanks Dinny. I didn't know if that with typical with H&R barrels. I had a quite a few loaded up to specs and they wouldn't chamber.

I've been considering the NOE version of that RCBS mold. Might have to buy myself a Christmas present.

At 70 years of age I need to start shooting up some of this lead that I've accumulated so the wife wont have to deal with it later on.

Both of mine have a VERY short jump to rifling with factory Hornady 200 LVR! I think that may have a lot to do with how accurate they are.

When I load the WFN bullets, the shoulder is almost at the mouth of the case.

Appreciate the response. The ones that I loaded were powder coated, which added slightly to length & width. I measured some last night and have gotten a max OAL for my gun.

By the way, I do believe that you frequent the Hunting Indiana site. That's another great place.
