Around here they eat the shrubs in people's yards. There are so many deer in town, it's getting odd to see one out in the field...

A few years ago my buddy and I did a 3 day float down the Red River of the North here in Fargo. Launched on the north side of town but spent most of the day getting outside the city limits. That day we saw 24 deer out and about in mid day.

Next 2 days we never saw another deer at any time.

Yeah, they moved into town just a bit slower than the squirrels.

Interests wide and widely varying.
Happily married 18 years. Retired on SS with lots of time to spend.
Started with .223 Ultra Bull barrel. Added .357 Talo barrel. Added an action and stock set bought here, 7.62x39 barrel. Then bought complete guns .444 Marlin and .300 Blackout. Leaving me at 4 complete rifles plus a barrel. Plus a 9mm stub job bought here, and I have been finding and buying H&R shotguns at our local pawn shop where they seem to go cheap.

Yup on the shrubs..

My wife always comments of the strange trimming folks do on there arborvitae trees... Funny how people, cut them allot near the woods then gradually cut them less and less as they get closer to the house..

Me "Honey, deer do that in the winter!"

Good pic Pete!!

yup pete the deer are going to take a pounding this year. Not only the most snow we had in decades but very cold temps to go with it. 4th of march and on my way to Marquette yesterday I saw the temp gauge go as low as -2

Lloyd, We just got home 15 minutes ago from your town, Munising. We had minus two in Engadine this morning and ran into white-outs on the Seney stretch and McMillan coming home. It's snowing and blowing here. Visibility is about 100 yards. Tomorrow starts Lent. Lets all give up winter!!

down here in southern Michigan we broke low temp records 2 days running. I think it got down to 5. We have had absolutely crazy weather this winter. Super cold -20 (not wind chill) I will be 77 this month and I have never seen -20 here. We have had supercold, warm, rain, thundersnow and very high prolonged winds. Its 14 right now 3/5/19 @6:45 p.m.

Lived in GR for a few years in the 80's. Worst I remember was -25 one morning. Caused a lot of problems with diesel rigs - local fuel only treated to -15!

UP snow drifts plus snow raked off the roof plus snow blower banking along with a bit of thaw-freeze and you have quite a pile of snow in places! Especially where there isn't room to push snow back away from walks/drives being cleared.
