Default Extractor to ejector

My Handi-rifle SB 1 has a extractor. Can it be changed to a ejector?

Only by milling the underlug to accept the ejector parts which may no longer be available, you may have to make parts for it, see the Extractor to Ejector conversion in the FAQs.

Maybe you can find someone, that wants an extractor and make a swap.. What gauge/caliber is it?

A statement of fact: H&R Huntsman & Sidekick blued barrels are made of 4140 steel.

A 25-06 barrel isn't suitable for a cast iron SB1 frame if that's what it's actually fitted to, it would have come from the factory on an alloy steel SB2 frame.

Is there a cross reference that I can check the serial number for whether it is a sb1 or sb2?

If you remove the stock from the receiver and look at the rear profile view of the frame you can determine if it is an SB1 or an SB2. Check the FAQ for details.

SB1 on the left, some cast iron frames will have small voids in the casting around the tang mount, but they won't look the same as the SB2 on the right.
