I am determined to make sure this is my favorite go to whitetail rifle, It will have to shoot about 25 deer to catch the 7-08, But I just want this to be my favorite. I have waited a long time to have one, so am excited. I may have to expand hunting area to another state to get 25 more deer in this lifetime... I don't mind a challenge though.
Thanks guys. - thejanitor

I am always looking for Simmons whitetail classic scopes- PM me if you may have one to sell. Thanks

Nice job! Completely off-topic; are you going to use an add-on to raise the comb for your scope, or just shoot it as is? I have a couple of handis with classic stocks and can't decide if I'm more comfortable with a lace-on or as is.

The barrel has sights that I may put a ghost ring on and use, but pulling it up as it fits now I notice the comb rides the side of my jaw, if it were a heavy kicker I may not want this but I think for the mid to short range shots I will have with this rifle should be ok as is, But a lace on comb could be very handi since a sling could be incorporated into it very easily. And it could be removed if I had to use the sights in a pinch.... Thanks thejanitor

Gene and Janitor, thanks for the replies. My Handis are a 25-06 altered to accept a rimmed case and a 30-30. Neither is a particularly hard kicker, so I think I'll just shoot them as is.

Thank you - Yes - It is a souper, Modern folks may call it a 25-308 but the dies I have called it a 25 souper so that is why I requested it marked by the old name. thejanitor
