Default Range report

Got my .32-20 insert from MCA on Friday and took it to the range this morning. The group was great at 25 yards when I didn't remove the insert between shots, not quite so good when I did. If someone can post them, I'll send some pictures of the insert and the target and then post more commentary. Just PM me an email address, I can't seem to insert pictures in this. gene
Thanks Quick.
Shots 1-3 were done with the insert being removed between each shot to remove the spent casing. Shots 4-6 were made with without removing the insert between shots. The groups speak for themselves.
This is an 18" rifled insert in a 20 ga Tracker II barrel fired off a bench. The first group had the sights set at the circle in the center of the target and the second group with the sights set where the arrow points at the lower left black block. I haven't wanted to change the sights on the Tracker II barrel since I haven't sighted it in with slugs yet.

Below the target you can see the insert with the rubber washer to hold the front of the insert centered in the barrel. Only one caseing needed a ramrod to get it out, but I plan to polish the chamber a bit befor I take it out again. The ammo was Winchester factory ammo with 115 gr lead slugs. I can't complain about the results.

Interesting. Looks like a huge difference when the insert needs to be removed. Hopefully that won't be often......

Yah, I'm thinking about making a smallish cut out along the rim so a fingernail can get under the cartridge rim to flick it out.

I bought 3 inserts from a seller on ebay, that came with those fingernail cuts. They can also be aligned so the ejector/extractor misses the rim leaving it in place. He also had extra cuts for o-rings back, middle, and front. I just have not yet gotten out and tested them.

Seller is chaszel and I am very happy with my purchases thus far. I just need to get out and shoot them.

2 were long, 20 ga to 9mm, 12 ga to .357, both 18" long and about 100$ each.

Then I also picked up a shorter .410 to .32sw long adapter.

Interests wide and widely varying.
Happily married 18 years. Retired on SS with lots of time to spend.
Started with .223 Ultra Bull barrel. Added .357 Talo barrel. Added an action and stock set bought here, 7.62x39 barrel. Then bought complete guns .444 Marlin and .300 Blackout. Leaving me at 4 complete rifles plus a barrel. Plus a 9mm stub job bought here, and I have been finding and buying H&R shotguns at our local pawn shop where they seem to go cheap.

I've seen his ads and contacted him, but never bought anything from him. I think I asked about a 410 to .38 spec. about 18" and he didn't think it would work because my 410 bore mike's .410 exactly.

I had my 18" .45 acp insert beveled the same way my .22 lr Shell Shrinker brand insert is. I may do it that way or maybe go with the cut outs. Haven't decided yet.

Groups look good Gene. Did you index it when you removed it between shots?

No, but when I shot the second group i did index it even though I didn't remove it between shots. My reloading gear is mostly packed away and commercial replacement ammo is $1.00 a shot, so I stopped at six rounds.
