Default 500 s&w handi

So I found a decent deal on a barrel/foreend and it was plug and play swapping the barrel onto the sb2 receiver ( started life as 243 rifle ). What are some major things I need to be on the lookout for besides recoil?
🙂

I put a Bushnell TRS-25 red dot on mine. Cured that eye relief problem. I sure shoot it a lot more than I did when it was scoped.

I’m directly under the cloud...the big puffy one.

I'd suggest a nice .45-70! Considerably more versatile and user friendly.

Ridiculously high ammo prices?

I gave my wife a necklace with a 500 S&W brass on it for Christmas one year and she asked why that caliber. I told her she and it were the only two things in this world I couldn’t tame so I gave up. They were both too much for me to handle.

I had a .500 for a very short time. Even if you reload it is more than I want to pay to shoot....expensive, short range, nasty recoil. It's a fad caliber. I can't even imagine it in a hand gun!

A local pawn shop has a boomerang 500. I say that because he keeps selling it and they keeping trading it in.

Worst recoil I have ever experienced in a Handi. Like Pete i can't imagine it in a handgun.
