Uh....Yeah!
Ate lunch with a life long friend today. I asked him if he was still watching the NFL. Did I mention he was a church deacon?
Anyway, with a slight ting of blue in the air around our table, he verified that he was NOT, nor would he ever again.
In my channel surfing, I will sometimes momentarily pause to see the mt bleachers at NFL games. I don't see that many.
Hmmmm

Statistical fact. On the overall average, NFL players make $2,000,000.00 a year.
Within 2 years of retirement, 78% of them file for bankruptcy.

Saw that conservatives in Congress are thinking about putting an end to federal subsidies to the NFL, and hoping state and local governments will do the same. I think that's fitting, and truthfully they should've never received subsidies in the first place. That was an economic sector that was WAY overpriced and overvalued, and it needs a serious market correction.

Personaly id about bet my life that over half the people that claim to not watch are still watching, just not admitting it. I never was a big football fan. My wife is crazy about it. She still watches but now only watches the lions games and if they keep playing like they are id bet that isn't for long. What she did notice is them pulling the wool over the fans eyes. They have gotten the tv people to quit showing the national anthem or at least not showing the players during it. But bottom line is the tv networks know just how many are watching and if it was as drastic of a cut as what you gleam from asking people on the street those players would have been fired already to keep there millions of dollars flowing. What we have now is closet football fans.

NFL subsidies? Your kidding?

New headline this AM. The Hernandez estate is sueing the NFL for the concussions he got while making millions playin football.
Never mind the gang pictures, and tattoos he had before the NFL.
I hope they get millions in the suit.

In your channel surfing looking over the bleacher count - how many blacks do you see at major league football, baseball and hockey games as spectators? I no longer watch but when I did - I saw very few - certainly not the 12% they are suppose to represent, more like 0.001% of 1%. Basketball, different story.

General statement are generally wrong. Only one we know for sure is ourselves. Canít speculate on what others are doing, but I take them at their word. NFL has lost about 10% of television viewers per week according to one news source I read. Donít remember which one though.

I know I canceled my NFL package when the season started and we have not watched any football games since. I got a list of supporting advisers online and am not buying their products.

We can break the NFL is enough of us stick together.

Still don't understand why it's called 'football'. Eggball would seem more appropriate, given its shape.
