Dee...except for fact most orthopaedic surgeons are not certified in Conformis and know little about the system and so stick to traditional knee replacements off the shelf. Of the 3 people I know with double knee Conformis all are highly pleased. Covered by insurance, too.
Since both my knees were crushed its about my only hope of remaining mobile.
Uncle Arthritis hit me at a early age , this June I will be 20 years in on my right hip replacement . Surgeons have advanced light years in technology since my surgery . You want believe the feeling of relief , once the pain is gone . Good luck ,whatever you decide to do .
Days stretched into weeks that stretched into months (so far) of NO PAIN following my gel injections. Perhaps my knees are not so bad, but without PAIN my world has brightened up a lot. I asked for knee replacements. Medicare (HMO Health Care) says I have to wear out lesser treatments first...prolonging the inevitable...but pain free is OK with me while retaining my OME knees.
I hope your Specialist visit goes well Dee, Linda's too, and there are pain free days ahead. Quality of Life is not underrated.
Dee I swore to myself, never to set foot here again but when I seen your knee problems I knew I had to do the right Texas thing and give you best wishes from a fellow Texan. I am lucky with my age as far as body problems exist except maybe the hard headiness my wife says I have. Anyway good luck in the road ahead and hope you find someone capable of fixing it. I'm pretty sure someone in Texas has the ability to do it.
